Stoneware sculpture depicting a snake coiled around an oblong sphere symbolising the sacred pearl jewel. From the Bizen kilns, where wood firing combined with glazing produces warm tones and variations in sheen. Opening to the underside.

Sculpture en grès issue des fours de Bizen, représentant un serpent lové autour d’une sphère oblongue symbolisant la perle sacrée. La cuisson au bois et la couverte appliquée créent des nuances chaudes et des variations de brillance. Orifice à la base.

      <g:description>Japan, mid-Edo period (1603-1868). 
Bone netsuke depicting a man holding an open scroll. The accentuated folds of his clothing are carefully rendered.  On the reverse, two pierced himotoshi allow the cord to pass through. Beautiful old patina, minor natural wear.

Japon, milieu de l'ère Edo (1603-1868).
Netsuke en os représentant un homme  tenant un rouleau ouvert. Les plis accentués de ses vêtements sont rendus avec soin. Au revers, deux himotoshi percés permettent le passage du cordon. Belle patine ancienne, petites usures naturelles.

      <g:description>19th century school, Dutch dogger sailing ships.
Oil on arched wooden panel depicting two sailing vessels at sea. An old inscription on the back appears to read "dogre hollandois", referring to the traditional Dutch fishing vessel known as a dogger. The work reflects the maritime painting style of the 19th century, emphasizing ship forms and sail arrangements. Some old restorations and light surface scratches.

École du 19ème siècle.
Huile sur panneau de bois cintré représentant deux navires à voiles en mer. Une annotation ancienne au dos semble indiquer "dogre hollandois", en référence à ce type d’embarcation traditionnelle. La scène s’inscrit dans la tradition des marines du 19ème siècle, avec une attention portée aux lignes des coques et à la structure des voiles. Quelques restaurations anciennes et fines griffures visibles.

Vietnam, 20ème siècle.
Boîte rectangulaire en laque, travaillée dans des tonalités beige à effet craquelé dites "coquille d’œuf". Le couvercle présente un décor délicatement doré de  bambou, traité en léger relief. L’intérieur, laqué de noir brillant, porte la signature en caractères dorés "Thanh Ley". Légères usures et petits manques.
